Well folks its that time of year when Pili Pala likes to stretch our legs and dust the winter cob webs off our shoulders! We are getting ready to hit the road! First stop...the Royal Welsh Spring Fair this weekend 21st and 22nd May. The Royal Welsh is located in an otherwise sleepy town known as Builth Wells...in Mid Wales..most famous for The Royal Welsh Show held every summer. The Spring Fair is a smaller affair but is a fun day out for the whole family...especially if the sun is shining! Fingers crossed! This year Pili Pala will be tagging on to the Green Horizons Exhibition located in the Montgomery Pavilion and we are really excited!! We love doing these type of shows. It is such a great way to personally meet your customers, get great feedback and make new friends and contacts!
It goes with out saying that our lovely organic childrens clothes will be going with us! Our sunny organic T's, dresses and cosy velours all essentials for this time of year bring colour and fun to such events and we can't wait!

Wednesday 24 November 2010On Monday evening we ventured out in the cold for
our annual sensory overdose at the Fair.
Every November the fair visits Aberystwyth and we go along for an
evening of fun.
We drink in the air which is heavy with the
heady smells of hotdogs, fried onions, hot sugar and donuts. We go from one ride to another, trying not to
be scared by the speed and height achieved by some of the rides.
The flashing lights, loud music and shrieks
of excitement all contribute to an evening where our kids are jumping up and
down, pleading for us to let them have ‘just one more go’.
It’s hardly an organic experience, but for
one night of the year, we think it’s great!

half term. No school runs. No uniforms.
No packed lunches. Lie-ins! OK, if you’ve managed to figure out the last one
please let us know – ours have been up since the crack of dawn and don’t quite
understand the concept of ‘please let mummy sleep just a little longer’!
So, what have you planned for the week ahead? We’re
hoping to have a jam packed week of fun activities. But we’re kicking off the week with a very
civilised cup of coffee in our local arts centre. Aberystwyth Arts Centre is
the largest arts centre of its kind in Wales and we love the fact that it’s on
our doorstep. Today is the launch of
their Christmas fair (yes, we know it’s only October, but come on, Christmas
will be here in 62 days)!
This year, the Christmas fair is better than
ever. There’s a whole host of local and
Welsh suppliers there from organic honey, funky photographs, crafty presents
and some rather delightful organic childrenswear – we have a stall! We also have some very special additions to
our collection at the fair which include our new organic cotton birdprint
babrygro, organic vest and hat in baby blue.
Another addition is our brown and green velour babygro (also organic
cotton and recycled fabric) – imagine a mini version of one of our jumpsuits
and you won’t be far off. They do come
with a health warning – they’re so cute they’ll make you very broody!
So, if you’re in the vicinity, or even fancy a
daytrip over to West Wales, call over to the Arts Centre for coffee and a cake you
won’t be disappointed with the cake or clothes selection, we promise!
PS Don’t worry if you can’t make it over here just
yet, the fair goes on until Christmas and the babygros will be available online
before too long!

Tuesday 20 July 2010 The Royal Welsh Agricultural Show is a pretty big thing in Wales. Imagine a village fete with ‘best in show’ competitions including everything from ducks to jam and prize bulls to giant onions. Now multiply what you have by about a hundred and you may be somewhere in the region of the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show. Held in July every year in Builth Wells, Powys it draws people from all over the UK and further afield. Whatever the weather, thousands flock to the showground for the highlight of the agricultural calendar. We’re hoping to pop along this week to see all the animals, savour some fantastic food and meet old friends. It’s a fantastic trip for all the family and is bound to be a big hit with our little kids. If you’re heading that way and you’re wondering what to wear we don’t think you’ll go far wrong with our stripy organic leggings tucked into your wellie boots. Funky and fashionable, they’re quick drying if you manage to jump in one too many puddles but cool enough if the sun manages to make an appearance!
